Our Family Vacation

We went up to Washington for a family vacation. We went camping with my mom and brothers (my youngest brother and sister weren't able to go because of work schedules. We really missed them.) We had a fun time with everyone. We were really sad that we weren't able to meet up with my dad and stepmom and brothers and sisters. We'll see them soon though.

Family Trip Breakdown:
We traveled a total 2303.4 miles; used 176.2 gallons of gas; went an average speed of 45 mph and got about 13 miles to the gallon. Sounds fun, doesn't it?

So our trip begins with everything packed in our trailer except the kitchen sink. Let's just say it was SLOW going up hills. It took us 15 hours straight through the night to get to my mom's house. We were very tired.

To keep the kids entertained, they watched movies. Haley's headphones wouldn't fit, so we stuffed an unused sponge in between her head and the strap and they fit perfect.

After a couple of days with no naps, Kate was finally way too tired to stay awake at the dinner table.

Who are those handsome men? Oh yeah! Curtis and Rocky at the "beach" area at my mom's house.
Kate, Shannon, Me, Natalie, my sister Stacey, and Haley. The sky is pretty much what it looked like the ENTIRE time we were there. Needless to say, we were never able to go wakeboarding or waterskiing. We were very sad.
This was Rocky's first time swimming in a lake. He LOVED it! He kept going after ducks, but they were always too fast.

A five hour trip from my mom's house brought us to a campground up in Omak, Wa. We were able to get everything set up and then hang out for one day and then guess what - it started RAINING! It was freezing! We had a fire and Natalie decided she wanted to roast a marshmallow.

Kate was posing for each picture. She kept throwing her legs up on the arm of the chair. It was so funny!

Both Natalie and Haley went fishing. My brother Chris bought them Barbie fishing poles. They loved fishing with them. They both caught 5 trout the first time they went out.

Our water soaked campground.

Hello Cheeks!

Chris was super excited about his camping chair with a canopy. That's his dog Rufio. Jeremy's lounging in his chair.

These are the fish the older girls caught, but Kate wanted to be in on everything so she marched right up and grabbed the chain that all the yucky fish were on. They were touching her shirt. I almost threw up! EEEWWW

Chris, Jeremy and Curtis after a long dusty ride on the quads.

Our lovely trip home began about 4 hours after leaving Omak with a flat tire. Later that day, I had a breakdown because I was exhausted and had to set up camp again at 10:00pm. A couple of curse words were heard by Curtis. We drove 11 hours the first day and 12 hours the 2nd day. Although I may sound a little complainy we had tons of fun with family. They were what made the trip worth it. Thanks guys for a vacation we'll never forget!

Oh My Heck! That Trailer is Awesome! Reminds me of packing all our belongings in a car and driving to Utah with 2 inches between the bottom of the car and the road! Miss you guys! Julia
