Funny Things . . .

We were decorating our Christmas tree. I have an ornament that is supposed to be ribbon candy. Natalie sweetly asks "Mom, are we going to put the bacon on the tree?" I about died laughing. She wasn't too happy with me.
Eyes in the Back of My Head
I have the girls convinced that I have eyes in the back of my head. They don't open unless they are doing something wrong. I was at choir practice with Natalie. I was speaking to one of the YM that was really tired and told him I could see that he was sleeping through choir practice because I have eyes in the back of my head. Natalie turned around and said, totally serious, "It's true - she does!" Haley told me she can't wait to be a mom so she can have eyes in the back of her head. They are totally convinced. I hope I can keep it up.

Prayers
I love it when the kids say prayers. Never a dull moment when they are praying. We were at the breakfast table and it was Natalie's turn to say the prayer. She said "bless that we can grow big and strong and that we won't be midgets like the girl in 2nd grade!" It was all I could do to keep from laughing out loud.

No More Jumping on the Bed
We have a rule that there is no jumping on the bed. Kate only has a mattress on the ground. She loves to jump and march on her bed. Yesterday morning she laid her blanket on her bed. I then told her no jumping on the bed. She said "I not jumping bed, I jumping blanket!" Another thing she likes to say is that she is not jumping on her bed, she is marching. She is too smart! Such a stinker!

Best Buds!

The other night I went to check on the girls before bed. This is how I found Kate's bed. Empty! I was a little nervous.
Then I went to see if she was in the other girls' room and sure enough she was sleeping with Haley. We picked her up and put her back in her bed. About 10 minutes later, she was back in Haley's bed but was trying to be sneaky and closed their door so we wouldn't notice. It happened again tonight. It is too cute!

Sorry Curtis

I guess this is what happens when you live in a house with all girls! Too cute!

Kate's New Favorite Word Is . . .

DUDE!!! She calls all boys that she doesn't know "dude." We went to our neighbors house for a second and the man was washing his car. Kate came home and said "dude was washing his car." One EARLY morning (5:30 or 6) Kate came in to our room ready to play. She had two barbies. She woke Curtis up and said "Dad, look! Cinderella and Dude!" or when we are driving a car she says "Look, dude driving car!" She is quite funny!

Some of the other words she says is "Oh crap!" "Are you kiddin me?" "Oh my gosh!" I am embarrassed that she says those words, but I know exactly where she gets them - me!

Halloween

We had an 80's themed Halloween party to go to. . .so much fun. I won 2nd place for my costume! YAY!!!
Kate was so cute trick-or-treating. She was having such a good time. She couldn't believe that all you had to say was "trick-or-treat" and you get some candy. She was in heaven. So cute!!

Halloween Decorations

Our SPOOKY decorations!

None of the girls loke this hairy scary spider. We like to tease each other with it.

Miles and Miles

I love it when you have a really good idea to make something for one of your kids and they wear it forever. Then each of the other kids wants to wear it. I made this for Natalie back in 2004.

Haley has enjoyed it

And now Kate (a little tattered, but she still loves it)

Ward Halloween Party

This weekend we had our ward Halloween party. Everyone dressed up except for Lindsey and I. Kate was Cinderella (I can't believe that dress is still holding up - I made it for Natalie when she was that age!), Haley was a cheerleader and Natalie was Hannah Montana. Curtis was . . .????

That's my man!!!!

The necklace says "Nicole." Totally disturbing!!!!

Girls with Curls!

The girls wanted me to put little foam curlers in their hair the other night. I put big curlers in Natalie's hair (we've already learned our lesson with the little ones) and I put the little 1" curlers in Haley's hair. You can guess by the picture that she HATED her hair. She has now learned her lesson and will listen to me when I tell her she won't like it.

Santa Cruz, CA

This last weekend we needed a break- big time! Curtis' sister Carrie and her husband Dale were in town and we went to the cabin. Super fun! Fufie came and joined us on her day off.
We had some chaos!! - Kate woke up on Sunday morning with a kink in her neck and screamed for about 2 hours while Carrie and Dale were still trying to sleep. Sorry guys!

Kate and I did a little modeling! Embarassing story - we were playing tennis and a lady came out of her house and asked if I would mind if she took pictures of me while playing because she was taking an art class and needed to draw "movement" - my shirt had lots of "movement" - SO embarassing!

Tuckered out from a long day on the boardwalk - I think that's how she got the kink in her neck

She would not TOUCH the sand unless she was on the blanket

Her daddy won this toy for being big and strong! Go daddy!

Look at these two tough guys!

Dale - sorry didn't get an action photo - I tried!

This was the girls FAVORITE ride. They basically had to be forced on, but once on they had lots of fun.

Flow Rider

It was the first time for both. They were still getting used to it - Hence the spinning and the somersaulting. Doesn't it look like fun?

Look at those cute little cheerleaders!

2 Years Old . . . Already

She turned two on September 7. We had a little party for her and Fufie came up. She loved opening the presents and eating the cake pops (I wish I could say I found them but my friend Natalie found the recipe). Kate kept asking for more. You can't really just stop at one. They are bite size, DARN good and DARN cute.

Chalkboard and magnetic board
Baby doll and pack n play

This picture was not on her birthday but too cute to pass up.

6 Months Old . . . Already!

I can't believe she is already 6 months old. She is super sweet and super cute.

15.8 pounds
25" long (she is way short. I guess she takes after me)
43.5" head (75 percentile for her head - gargantuous melonhead)

Goodbye Shannon

As most of you know our friend, Shannon, has been living with us for the past 9 months. It was wonderful to have her in our home. She is now on to bigger and better things. She is leaving for BYU-Idaho soon. She received numerous scholarships and is the first one in her family to go away to college. We are so proud of her. We will miss her! The girls love her a lot. She stopped by to say goodbye and Haley was snuggling with her and wrestling with her. She will be missed a ton! Goodluck Shannon!

First Day of School

Three weeks late, but oh well. The first day of school . . .

Kate had to get in on the pictures
Finally in kindergarten. She RUNS to class everyday. I have to remind her that I need a kiss and a hug everyday. We were driving home from vacation and she said "I can't believe I've waited my whole life to start school and now I'm scared!"
